Blog Reflection  The process of writing and interacting with the blog was one of much learning and knowing a different platform to work with a blog. I consider the blog an excellent tool for people who are experts with computers or electronic devices. In my case, it was super easy and fun because I advanced much more than writing in pencil or pen. The blog contains many tools that help you add more resources to your publications. The publication that I enjoy the most, and the one I consider most interesting, was the publication about the lessons I learned from MarĂa. In that publication, I was able to add various photos and videos on the subject of the hurricane and the damage it caused in Puerto Rico. There are so many photos and videos that I would like to put for this publication but it would be too much for the document. Some of the differences that exist between the blog and the journal is the use of resources that can be used in a publication, the organization of...
Concepts in Homemade Education by Malcolm X 1. Nation of Islam       The Nation of Islam is an organization composed chiefly of African Americans, advocating the teachings of Islam and originally favoring the separation of black and white racial groups in the United States. Their members are known as Black Muslims. The NOI was founded in Detroit, Michigan by Wallace D. Fard Muhammad on July 4, 1930. After his disappearance, Elijah Muhammad led the Nation of Islam. The objectives of this group are to improve the spiritual, mental, social and economic condition of the African-American community. 2. Self-education      Self-education or autodidacticism is when you teach yourself concepts without anyone to guide you but yourself. The only thing that guides you is the information that you learn from. Malcolm X is a great example of a self-educated person. He decided that he wanted to learn the dictionary and he did so at his own pace. This is a...

Life Compass Reflection The life compass is an activity in which an analysis is made of how you feel on a day on a scale of 1 to 3 and taking into account some types of aspects. The aspects or areas that were analyzed were: awareness, emotional, mental and physical. You start by drawing a spiral, then place the 4 categories around the spiral and through an analysis that was done in a few minutes, you could get the scores of your mood or how you felt on that day. At the end, all the scores were added and you could measure your mood with your score and with the maximum you could get, 12 points. In addition, keywords were written in each category and a small reflection of the score or your mood was written.   My average score for this exercise was 7 out of 12, which I consider a good score and were days in which I felt in a regular or calm state. The maximum score, which I had for 2 consecutive life compasses, was 10 out of 12. They were days where I felt relaxed, had alm...

About Men Author’s points: The purpose of this reading is to demonstrate the types of stereotypes that are attributed to men, based on their masculinity and using Western Cowboys as examples. According to the stereotypes of society, cowboys are considered one of the most masculine figures in American culture. Using personal histories, Gretel Ehrlich exposes some arguments where it contradicts the masculinity of the cowboys; which are considered as strong, intimidating people and perhaps as people without feelings, like rocks. On the other hand, Gretel considers them as gentle, kind people who have feelings like other people.   Reflection: My dad also uses the definition of masculinity in the perspective of his time. He wants that all the boys must act manly and aggressive when it comes to fights or tough moments in live. However, in this time, not all the boys must act like cowboys or people from that time. In this time, men and boys empathizes with the opposite s...

Journal Reflection Following the rule of the first thought it was a bit difficult because I am one of those people that likes to write with a logical theme and all that matters is that it is organized in the sequence of ideas. Besides the rule of don’t think, don't get logical was one of the rules that took me time to memorize and apply. On the other hand, I think it was only at the beginning but over time I got used to it. I consider that these two rules were not an obstacle for me. That I was the one that forgot to apply it the first few times I wrote in the journal, but then it became easy and I learned to use them. I am sure that it will be very helpful when I want to create new content. My writing has changed positively thanks to this project and I think I’ll continue like this. Thanks to the "Do not worry about spelling, punctuation, grammar" rule, I was able to write without thinking or analyzing the correct way to write the words at the time. On the other...

Lessons from Maria             On September 20, 2017 Hurricane Maria entered Puerto Rico, considered the hurricane with the most damage caused on the island in its modern history. Hours after the hurricane, he noticed the massive destruction that Maria made. The magnitude of the damage caused by this atmospheric phenomenon was not what was expected for any Puerto Rican, for the simple fact that we were used to going through less severe hurricanes than Maria. The electric service was in terrible condition, the water service was not working in large parts of the country, families seeking shelters, communications out of service, homes and establishments destroyed and debris on all sides limiting the roads of Puerto Rico.               With the passing of days, the uncertainty grew because there was not much communication in many regions of the island due to the abs...

Reflection about "Girl" by Jamaica Kincard This story gives us a clear example of how girls or young women were educated at home in poor countries. Throughout the story you can read how a mother, in a mandatory tone, tells her daughter the ways or things she should do throughout her life to be a woman and not a slut. The orders are so strict that she tells her daughter with whom she can talk and with whom she cannot talk. In addition, it can be observed that the mandatory power that the mother has limits her daughter to only being able to speak twice during the story. The most shocking of all is that she does not take into consideration what her daughter wants or says. I thought that this story is very sad because of the situation that this young woman lives and I think that this is due to the ancient cultures that still exist in the world. Cultures where parents raise their children strictly, where children live oppressed without being able to make their own deci...
